Has anyone ridden or raced it? I'm thinking about dropping the hammer on one in the next couple of weeks. I haven't seen any feedback or reviews on the rp2 shock or the bike in general. I'm guessing the bike should weigh about 26 lbs as-is.....I've been given a demo '06 anthem 2 with some carbon goodies and the bike weighs 25.5 lbs with xt stuff and 717 wheels. Any feedback on the '07?

I have a '06 Anthem 2 that I just bought this fall for $1600 (MSRP $2300) and it is a nice bike. I think the list price on the Anthem 1 is actually $4000. The only problems with the Anthem 2 are the tires (not enough grip for my trails) and the Hayes disc brakes (not easy to keep them from rubbing a little). Otherwise, I am satisfied. I would suggest buying a '06 if you can get a good price.

This '06 I have has the r7 fork and a manitou shock. The '07 comes with fox front and rear. The '07 anthem 1 lists for $2300...the anthem 0 goes for $4000. I'll give the '06 a try this week and see what I think. That fox stuff is tempting though.

I thought 06 Anthem 2 is 07 Anthem 1, 06 Anthem 1 is 06 Anthem 0,check out the MSRP between 06 and 07 at Giant USA site. :D

Yes, as far as msrp goes, that's the case. The only difference I see is the fox fork and shock on the '07. I like the 717 wheels on the '06 too. The R7 fork on the demo bike I'm riding is losing pressure daily. They need to do better than that. However, the bike ('06) is race ready (sport class) out of the box. I weighed it at 25.5 lbs as is with a carbon ritchey wcs bar.

Well from my opinion, if im living in the us, I would take 07 Anthem 1 over 06 Anthem 2 because of this stuffs:
1. Fox suspension is much better then Manitou
2. New Shimano components (dual release, instant release and etc)
3. I dont really care bout stock wheels. As long as its discs
