EDIT: 11/2/06
Looking over the budget for the next two weeks, I can't afford a 200 mile road trip right now. So I have to stay local to SD this weekend. I may ride MTB @ Sycamore Canyon trails in Poway or tackle Palomar Mt again or do some nasty repeats on Mesa Grande.

Can't believe you're passing up the Swapmeet (and cheap brakes) for this. ;)
I might be up for it, waiting to see what the family plans look like for the weekend. I'd like to check out the Eastern Perimeter Fenceline Singletrack, it starts not too far from the end of Raptor. Has anyone done this trail, any info?
Anyone up for a faster pace ride at Chino on sunday morning? I'd like to hit up Raptors ridge to whatever other cool singletracks I can find. I don't know the trails and don't mind getting lost if I have to. I'll be on my SS, so flatland spinning pace will be in the 15-17mph range. Prolly ride to 4 corners and hit Bovian to the fireroad, double back down to 4 corners, hit up raptors from there to whatever it leads too.
I can probably do it. We can hit some of the singletrack on the east side of the park.

I've done it but it's been a year since I've ridden it. Its a fun singletrack.
jsigone.... you still previewing the SART on the 4th? or is this ride replacing it?
I'm riding Daley ranch on the 4th w/ Mo in the morning and spend the rest of the day with the GF before she kicks my butt for riding too much.
Sunday I would like to start at 7am be done by 9-10ish then pending how I feel, maybe head to SART and do 20-25 miles there. SART from chino is prolly about 45 mins out. Not sure if I want to drive that yet.
So for now Chino might be the SART replacement.
I thought of riding San Jaun trail, but thats 11 miles switch back climbing from the get go but FUN decent.
I could just see if anyone wants to join me a SART in the morning and cancel Chino. Damn it I can't make up my mind!!!!!
So for now Chino might be the SART replacement.
I like that idea, Jeff. I'm sure we'll end up with more participants. :)
Sunday I would like to start at 7am be done by 9-10ish
Official park Hours—8:00 a.m. to sunset.
I got there 7am last time and wasn't the first one in, some guys were playing Tennis.
We can do a 8-8:30am start time if everyone is happier w/ that.

You were actually parking in Carbon Canyon park and has different hours. Chino Hills entrance is down the street from the parking lot where you go around the gate.
Ok...will wait and see what you decide to do and where you want to ride on Sunday.

Yah I'm thinking SART is a GREAT trail but not for the feint at heart. Plus it would be downright dangerous have a group 10+ people strung out on a narrow single tracks that may spook others. If one person in the middle he/she can spook the person behind them and something may happen. Plus we must consider the others that are using the trail and might be going the other way. As it was at Chino, some were getting spooked of the small water crossing and making the line come to a near stop.

he's talking about this weekend..... he was planning on doing a SART preview....
i don't think the 18th has been decided yet....

I think I'm guilty this time ;)
i don't think i will be free on sunday but am still in for whatever ride is decided on for the 18th Chino or wherever-I'm down.
I still want to check out SART, so I might be in for another double header on sunday.
So anyone want to ride Sunday at Chino, say 8am?
If we could earlier say about 7am and be done by 10am then I would go, otherwise 8am is too late. I told my son I would take him for a road ride on Sunday.

Well ? Look above.

Sorry that sounded kinda rude.
nah, no sweat. Are you gonna be able to make it to the group ride on the 18th?
Maybe, I am not sure yet, I have to request a vacation day.
Looking over the Budget, I can't afford the gas money/food to make this trip if I want to go to Joshua Tree ride. So I have to stay local in SD for the weekends ride.
If you want I can feed you after the ride I only live a few miles from the park
I have to stay local:( thanks for the offer though

 Too funny I never thought of that.
ps. Tomorrow...7 am...Daley Ranch...should be about 53 deg, and mostly sunny. If I get attacked by a bear, I expect you to sacrifice yourself to save me.
