Foo - Any Front Page experts here?

I've just started using FP 2003 and have a pretty simple page, mostly as a means of sharing pics of my daughter with friends and family. I built a page using FP's Photo Gallery feature, Slideshow layout, but the thumbnail scroll arrows get lost in the background image I used (in IE).

In Firefox, I don't get the arrows in question (with the Thumbnails) since all the thumbs display with a scroll button for the whole page rather than the images.

Is there a way to change the standard colors in the Photo Gallery elements? I've looked in Help and I have a reference book, but neither has produced any help for this specific issue.

I haven't used Front Page, but I have used Front Page Express (Office97) as a WYSIYG HTML editor. From what I can see of your source code it is very javascript intensive, again not something I'm very familiar with.

Were I to consrruct that page, I'd set it up in a table, two colums, 14 rows with a thumbnail in the left column and a description in the right. Then I'd link the thumbnail to the full size image to spawn a new page using the "new" tag. This would keep the pictures out from behind your text (in Firefox). I'm a firm believer in simple HTML to create as cross browser compliant as possible.

Yeah, the javascript comes from what Front Page calls a "webbot" which automatically formats the element (photo gallery) and the corresponding code. Like I said, I'm not anything close to a web designer or HTML coder, so I'm using the tools I have available. I guess what it comes down to is that I'd like to be able to edit elements of the "webbot".

Turns out Front Page isn't quite WYSIWYG....

I don't get scrollbars in either Firefox nor IE... :(

When I look at it in Firefox, I see all 14 thumbs across the top. In IE, only 5, with little blue arrows on either end of the 5 thumbs to move through them.

I see 14 in FF and 5 w/ arrows in IE. This is what I mean about cross browser compliant. FP is generating code that only IE understands, FF ignores the code is dosen't understand. Can you array the thumbnails across the top instead of using that scroll feature? This way a FF user won't have to scroll the page sideways to see the last few pictures.

I just looked at my FP... the first time after my system upgrade. How about trying another display mode from the 'Photo Gallery' option? Mine shows four different options... It looks like the last one "Display in vertical columns" might do the trick for you.

Ok, looking at the IE screen closely, I can kinda see the arrows for the scrolling. They're kinda translucent and blends into the background. Is there a way to turn off the Javascript? It doesn't seem for something as simple as a photo-album, that you need to get that complicated...

Actually, now that Microsoft gave up on trying to force their version of Java down everyone's throats, Java's much more powerful and standardized than Javascript. Here's a couple of Java-based photo-albums:
