Has anyone purchased one of those new extender "tubes" for their PCS-1 repair stand? Are they any good and/or useful?

I bought one and put it on my PCS-1. It works great. I can now stand up straight when I work on my bike.

The PCS-SXT extension will work only on the PCS-1 stands that have the composite top tube assembly.
