Foo - Arrrrrrgggghhhh!!! My housemate is an idiot! <rant>

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Yes, if ass holes could fly, I'd need to build a runway!
We have a Chrysler Concorde who's whiz band computerized climate controll system has taken a dump. Regardless of how you set it, it will only run at full heat, with the fan running at full blast. I drove the car last Saturday (first ime in about four months) and my right foot got blistered from the heat output. When every one was gathered, I asked "How long has the Chrysler been like that?". I got blank stares with a unanimous response of "Like what?". I proceded to explain what I meant and was answered with "I didn't know that there was a problem." Doh! You can't regulate the temprature or the fan speed, yet there's no apparent problem?!?!? Dee, dee, dee!
So, my housemate asys "What should I do?" I replied "Call the dealership, and make an appointment to take it in.". Side note: We bought the car used from the Kia dealer.
This morning as she headed out, we're confirming the transportation plans to get her home from the dealership she says, "... and you can pick me up at Kia.". I'm like "Kia? WTF do you mean Kia... It's a Chrysler. Why the hell are we taking it to a Kia dealer?!?!". She said, "Well you said to make an appointment with the dealer." I replied in exasperation, "But why the Kia dealer? If it was something I felt anyone could fix, I'd have told you that we'll take it to Meineke. Any parts needed to fix it will have to come from a Chrysler dealer, now logically, wouldn't it be best to take it to the people who knows what the hell is going on and could get parts straight away?" She just stood there with a stupid look on her face and I turned my head in disgust. Stupid! Farkin' stoopid moran! How the hell she ever lived to be 56 years old is beyond me!
I'm so mad I could spit! Now I'll have to make the arrangements and be inconvenienced.
ARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!

I had a 1997 Crysler Cirrus LXi with the same problem. The resistor had apparently been replaced before by the previous owner, and it blew again. The receipt was in the glove box. Those electrical engineers must have f'd up somehow.
Thanks, now I have an idea of where the problem is. :)

Just roll all the windows down. With the heat on full blast, it'll come flying out the windows and make the car go faster. <dee dee dee>

heh...I've been through this back when I lived with flatmates:
"Dude, where's the TV?"
'Oh, it's at Ben's.'
"Why? it needed a new Op-amp board?"
'So?'
"We had the arrangement at the Repair facility on blah road"
'he can do it'
"Dude, I am so going to pimpslap you when this goes awry"
.....15mins later he calls and asks why he brought a TV with a bad op-amp to him, since he only services tubes....I called in the air strike of pimpslaps a few seconds later.....then was almost late for work as I drove to his place to pick it up, take it to the service center, and then go to work.....argh.
Chloroform, a bonesaw, some plastic sheeting, duct tape, and an empty crawl space are one soltion to your problem.
Bullocks! A 9mm to the back of the head, mob hit style and a call to the po-po. I dying anyhow, might as well let the state hasten the process!
Still seething!!!

Still seething!!!Except that mob hitmen like to use 22LR rounds. Make for a small, light, easily-concealed gun. The bullet penetrates the skull just fine, but doesn't have enough punch to go out the other side and make a mess. Instead it just bounces around inside your head and turns your brain to mush....
I think a couple of hungry pigs will discard of the body cleanly for you.. bones and all...

Medically unfit to stand trial, sounds like the time to do some contract work. Stacey, enforcer for the manicured hand.
That sucks.
No, it blows, hard and hot. You did not read very carefully!:p

I have a thing for italian women. Send her to my house and I will shave her back and her arms..........she needs to come with pre-waxed lip though..................and I will cure what ails her. Make sure she brings a care package of cheap whiskey and 120 length cigarettes. The whiskey is for me, the smokes are for her.
You guys are great! :roflmao:
Post a problem on Foo and you've got friends to make light of it. :) Works better than Valium.
No Shad, not my SO... She DOES know better.

Wimmin and cars....welcome to my world!
My first wife pulled one you'd like. I get home from work and discover my dog, my best bud for years, lying in the corner, dirty, scratched up and with a broken tail. My wife tells me she accidentally ran him over with her pickup. I ask, 'Did you take him to the vet?' She replies, 'No, I didn't know if you'd want me to'. WTF?
Thing is Chip, this ****** is a trannie too! We went thru transition, and surgery together. Doc must have got tired (she went second) and cut off the wrong damn head!
Sorry to hear about your buddy. I do hope he pulled through it with nothing more than a kink.

OK this is probably not the response you want to hear... I admit that from the onset.
First of all I am of the mind if you want something done right the first time do it yourself.
Judging frm your post, it was clear from the onset the housemate was not too keen with cars. I can understand why she called and made an appointment with the Kia dealer since that's whre the car came from.
Next time, use better communication - saves alot of time and frustration. I never assume the other person knows exactly what I mean. I would have said "Make an appointment to take it in the the dealer - the Chrysler dealer. Since the car is a chrysler product they are better equip to deal with the problem."
Light bulb would have gone on and saved you some aggravation. Of course, then we wouldn't have had this fine post... :p
Thanks for the pointer :) I've lived with her for about 8 years now and we've worked on communication issues in the past. But your right it IS my responsibility to make sure I've communicated clearly. I should have known better. :o
Oh well, if stupidity can't be painful, it can always be expensive.

Just to play devil's advocate, is it possible that she thought it was still covered under warranty from the dealership where it was purchased? Granted 4 months or longer is probably optimistic for a used car warranty though.

:roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: Thank god I wasn't drinking something when I read that, otherwise I would have done an impression of Old Faithful. I may just have to quote that as a screen saver at work. Do you use this to rehydrate during those moments of simplified communication: http://www.LetItLoose.com?

Dude, that's got all the characteristics of an award winning country song right there... Seriously though, sorry to hear about the dog. They can be like members of the family, except you like them even more. I'm glad he wasn't hurt worse.
