Mountain Biking - If you are a parts expert, I need your help!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

i'll work for beer!!
let me just take a look at the other thread first.
ok, simple, go to your search engine, look up a decent bike shop, ask them to e-mailyou a quote for these parts, or just print off the prices form an online shop.
that'll be a six pack of guinness!

Go to speedgoat.com and let your fingers do the walking.
If anything is missing from there try http://www.bestwebbuys.com/bikes/index.html and make sure to sort in DESCENDING order.
Edit: sort

you don't need a discount warehouse. i'm sure if you look, you could find an extortionate website out there.

Just look at any on-line bike store. Even if the part's on sale, most of the time, they'll list the MSRP. Or, go to the manufacturer's website and get the MSRP from there if they list it. For wheels, just find a comparable pre-build wheelset and use that price. The insurance company has better things to do than google each of these components. Just do what you can and use your best judgement on the rest.

Speedgoat is not a discount vendor like PricePoint. Did you even bother following the link?

there are those who ride their bikes to the trails. there are also those who use their mountain bikes to commute as it may be their only bike. don't be so dense ...

Can't you just feel the love in this thread?
Thanks for the help and concern, I'm off to drink beers wif me mate, rea1high...
I'm assuming you know the models for each component above, for example what avid disc brake model, etc?
Then really you could google search each one or go to manufacturer websites for msrp.

Ser,
I would say 1000$ is fair. You could probably push that up a bit. But 1000$is going to be close, unless some of those parts were the high end ones
