Hey all, I'm planning on taking a little biking vacation this summer (long weekend or something similar) and I'm trying to keep it driveable to cut costs. I live in Buffalo and don't want to drive more than 8-10 hours. I'm looking for mostly XC and some downhilling, not endless climbs. Any suggestions for a good place to do a 3-4 day trip? Bear in mind I will be going to Killington for one trip this summer, looking for something besides that sort of riding. Any and all suggestions welcome.

Cheers!

Included is my bike after I christened it this past fall, cause everyone loves pics :-)

Plattekill NY and the surrounding area is loaded with trails and some of the best DH in the northeast. This should be less than six hours from Buffalo.

Mt. Snow VT, Conway, NH, some killer trails in PA! There are an abundance of areas. Heck in 8-10 hrs, you could make it to NC for some killer riding in Pisgah Nat'l Forest, but I'm sure there are more areas closer!

I'm from FL, so I have to travel North 12 hrs to get to Pisgah!

White Mts in New Hampshire are great. About 9 hours from you.

You gotta do Jim Thorpe, PA in the Pocono Mountains. It's supposedly some of the best trails on the east coast. I have only heard great things about it. The main trail in the area is called the American Standard. I want to go up for a long weekend this summer my self to hit the trails up. You should try and go to Mountain Bike Week this summer. I forget when it is exactly but do a search for it on this board I know there was something about it on here.
