So what does everyone use to cover the face and especially the eyes in the freezing cold weather. For me it isn't so much my face as the blowing snow makes my eyes water, then they freeze and I can see nothing.

I sometimes wear ski goggles on the way to school.

I have a balaclava, clear wraparound glasses, goggles, and a neoprene mask. I mix and match depending on how cold it is. -30C (my current record) involves the neoprene mask and the goggles

i wear a beanie and a turtle fur neck thing and my glasses, it covers from the nose to shirt coller. i think the coldest i've ever rode was -30c with 15mile per hour winds at 3am! I might try goggles soon cuz my eyes were hurtin...

doesn't get as cold as other places here in NC, and we hardly ever see snow, but last year I picked up a balaclava for the cold morning rides to work. best winter investment i've made.

The eye patch is a must. When the uncovered eye gets cold, just switch the patch over!

I'm going to be getting a Buff (http://buffusa.com/) very soon. Haven't used one yet, but I'm anticipating that it will fill in nicely as a bit of biking apparel.

-lightweight, small (stores when not in use)
-No seams
-Multiple uses (bandana, dew-rag, balaclava)

Read about it on Kevin Kelly's "Cool Tools" website, and I've already gotten some very good use out of items which were recommended on that site.

For the eyes, I need to find a fairly cheap pair of glasses with good UV protection.

This looks nice. Have you tried it yet?

My problem is that a lot of these face covers make my glasses fog up. Also, it doesn't often get that cold here.

No, not yet. This is a new item unlike any I've seen before. One point that noted was the area around
the nose/mouth is mesh to allow vapor to escape. I wrote the the company to ask that they offer
it in red or orange also for folk's like hunters, cyclist, outdoorsmen to wear as black to me seems
kinda dumb from a safety point. I'm gonna ask my kids to get me one as cheap christmas present
to try.

Hey--fast answer Tightwad. Thanks! :)

I have the mail order catalog for Duluth Trading Co. Looks like real good prices on this face mask and lots of other stuff.

Sorry, not much freezing cold here in the PacNW (it rarely drops below 20F). I get by on my glasses, balaclava and my winter coat (full beard from Nov. 1 to Apr. 1!)

Balaclava and sunglasses, but I'm in SC, so it rarely drops below 10-15F.

I wear 2 x 99 cent polyester bandanas, the first around my head like a pirate, but pulled down across my ears partially, and the second across my face with the knot tied above the knot for the one around my head. When your done, it looks like a balaclava. The helmet and it's chin strap keeps it all in place while riding. I've used this for temps down into the teens.

At the moment, a rayon pashmina wrapped urban bedouin fashion, across the ears and back across the face, and tucked under the hat/helmet. Don't know what I'll do for eyes, since it's not that cold yet, but ski goggles is the safe bet. Since I have the beard, the pashmina will do to 'pretty cold', and I'll cross that vale when we get there.

Wrap around glasses are a must, over 25 mph in weather under 0'C my eyes pour water. I have bandannas, neoprene masks and if weather is really really bad an old style paint ball mask. I used yellow tape to put some fangs on the mask part. If a car gets too close, givem the evileye wearing the fanged mask. It's worth about 18" of room. A worthwhile investment to me. Had a punk laugh at me once, I chased him around his high school parking lot while he cried for forgiveness. Just don't walk into a variety store with a bandanna, neoprene or ballaclave on. Especially if you area has lax gun control laws,

I have a lot of hair so I wrap my big wool scarf around my head so that my hair is covering my ears and so that my scarf is covering nose/mouth area. usually does the trick!

I have a baclava for when it's <25F, and one of those mouth/nose covers for when it's <40F or so (I believe they're typically used for skiing, don't know what they're called)
