Bicycle Mechanics - MTB Forks for 25.5" frame GIANT Terrago

Hi,
I bought a Giant Terrago with a 25.5" frame back in 1999. It has Magura Hydraulic Rim brakes (11's), and I am now interested in upgrading the rigid forks to suspension type. The Steerer is 1 1/8" and 255mm long with a threaded top... I am struggling to find any forks that would fit straight into the bike... does anyone have any suggestions? Most forks these days seem to be AHead or Threadless...
TIA

pop in a threadless headset, and vuy a new stem along with the fork and you would be golden.
Have you stopped in in to your LBS to see what they could order? Thats usually your best bet.
I did visit my LBS on the weekend and they were not able to make any recommendations due to the steering tube length requirement... I guess my options are to stick with the rigid forks, or get a longer steering tube welded on to a set of suspension forks... although that carries its own risks...
Also, a threadless headset would only make the steering tube length even longer... the max threadless steering tube length I have found on any of the manufacturer's websites is 255mm

chances are that the frame isnt designed for suspension forks too, which will end up jacking the already high front end up even higher and turn the bike into a barge.
25.5 inch frame ? 255mm headtube ? are you like 9ft tall or somthing ?

Not quite... only 6'6"... bought the bike in Holland where being that tall is not out of the ordinary... the LBS had the bike in stock
