Touring - Nishiki Riviera GT - How does it rate?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Any opinions or experiences with the Nishiki Riviera GT? How are they for loaded touring? Any insight or information would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Is this really possible? No one has ever used a Nishiki Riviera GT for touring? Or knows someone who has?

In that case, can someone recommend which other forum I would be most likely to find out touring-specific information on the Riviera GT? Road bikes? Vintage & Classics? Commuting?

I can't offer you much information or a very educated opinion on that bike, but I did happen upon one on a certain online auction site. I don't know if that's the one you are considering, but I looked at it's specs and the pictures. It doesn't look that great, but if you can it for cheap, you could probably make it work. A lot depends on the condition, which is difficult to evaluate without any information. You could post in the vintage forum to see what they can tell you about the bike's components and frame material. The road forum will be useless for your inquiry. Good luck.
Just picked one up in great condition. I plan on touring and, after meeting the bike, see no reason not to. Durable Suntour components. I'll put a new saddle, a rack and fenders on, load 'er up, and report back after:)
see the bike here.
