Touring - Where can you purchase Modolo Trekking bars?
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Where can you purchase Modolo Yuma Trekking bars here in the US? Those that are trekking bar experts, is there any real difference between these and the ones from Nashbar or Harris cycle. According to the specs the Modolo seem to be a little less wide and less weight but not sure. Would appreciate any info you could send my way. Thanks

The REI Novara Safari comes with a Trekker bar that will be available as a seperate purchase Feb '07. Cost is about $17.00.

If you look at the June 16 posting on this page about a guy's well loved Surly LHT, it sounds like he had the same experience I've had. They just don't seem to be readily available in the US. The Modolo bars certainly look more ergonomic than the $20 bars from Nashbar, but at over twice the price plus shipping from Europe I'm just going to have to wait. I'd at least like to see them in person before ordering from Europe.

Not Modolo, but I have seen Nitto trekking bars on eBay occasionally. They're nicely finished and have a slightly different shape than the Nashbar ones.
Has anybody seen these or used this etailer on eBay?

Thanks Seeker, I did find this list before, and none of the listed online dealers carry the YUMA series, guess I would just have to ask them to special order them since I don't live very close to any of the listed dealers as well.
