Borat puts it to shame!
WOW! is all I have to say. If you wanna talk about the worst movie(in terms of political correctness) this is it. It was hilarious, also full of gasps. When Borat says that "We dont want the Jew to attack New York like they did on 9/11" the whole movie theater gasps, and my date, with her jaw to the floor goes,"WHAT KIND OF MOVIE DID YOU TAKE ME TO!" I told her he has never said anything THAT bad(or more untrue) in any of his shows. It was a very entertaining movie, but some parts were seriously wrong and not of my approval. This movie will be banned in a week tops.
Anyone else see it?

Do you honestly mean to tell me that it was worse than Jackass 2? If thats what your saying I better go see it.

Its pretty safe to say it was MUCH crazier than jackass 2.

Just from the clips on various TV entertainmnet shows, the Borat character seems too
Robin Williams style annoying to take for more than five minutes.......
Um...have you seen The Aristocrats?

Stevo put a fish hook through his mouth, then went swimming with deadly sharks. I find it hard to believe that Borat outdid that. But if you are so sure I must go see it.

The clips I've seen have Borat sporting an Actors Equity slavic accent
so broad you could drive an 18 wheeler through it. Yet all his victims seem
to fall for it.
This looks like the kind of provocation that Jimmy Kimmel's cousin does
so well. It's hard to imagine a whole movie of it though.

Clips does not do the movie justice. There is the Khazaki version of the running of the bull, "The running of the Jew." HE SAYS THE JEWS WERE THE CAUSE OF 9/11. He gets into a naked fight with Azamat over Azamat "having personal time with himself" to a Pamela Anderson magazine. He askes Pamela Anderson to marry him, when she says no he chases her out of the signing store and tries to smother her with the quilt he made for their wedding. I think thats a bit more over the top.

I don't want to spoil it, but there was a scene in jackass where one guy impersonated a terrorist that probably out did borat. I will know for sure what I think is the best (or worst for those of you who have class taste and decency) after I see borat.
I don't want to spoil it either, but Ali G is Jewish.

Ali G is not a real person, just a character. You mean Sasha Baron Cohen (spelling?)?

That would be him.

I saw it in a sold out theater of conservative engineering students last night.
Worst pranks ever. Way outdoes Jackass. It is more over the top than you would imagine, actually has a story, and the setup is as well done as The Blair Witch Project, so despite my knowledge that it is a spoof-o-mentary, I still had moments of disbelief. Even spoilers weren't spoilers. as whole pre-screened scences took on a life of their own with the over the top reactions of the audience. Make sure to see it in a packed theater, the effect is the same as a roller coaster.
This was also the most surreal film I have seen since Eraserhead. Borat is like Candid Camera and Faces Of Death mixed with snuff porn. Some scenes compelled me to cover my eyes like a 9-year-old.
The most poignant thing is, it is also the smartest film that I've seen since Bowling For Columbine.
Instant legend.

I agree, it's a great movie.
And I agree with serendipper, this movie (and the whole Jackass series) is an exercise in surrealism. :D

scarpi, you clearly didn't understand this film and aren't familiar with sacha baron cohen
Saw it last night in a sold out theater. Funniest movie I have ever seen. Seeing it with such a large crowd made it better, no doubt about it. That guy is psychotic!

Cohen attended Cambridge and wrote the equivalent of a senior thesis on the relationship between Blacks and Jews in the American civil rights movement.

very little offends me except extreme violence, such as Chain Saw Massace. .In terms of bizarness? Brazil. Beyond my sense of bizarre. what was that all about. ? I liked the political message in Natural Born Killers. Some hated , The People vs Larry Flynt. Loved it. I'd throw oranges at the Supreme Court anyday.

hahaha oh yea?
well first of all its SACHO Baron Cohen. And I know plenty of the guy. I know he graduated from the University of Cambridge and is a very bright person. I know that behind all the stupid jokes and antics, his real purpose is worthy of discussing. The point, or I as I see as his shows and the movies, is to reveal how messed up some people really think, and to expose that to the public eye. It is also useful for the fact that people will go along with his antics, and not stand up to the outrageous things he is saysing, regardless if he really believes the things he says. He is also like 6'4" or 6'5" hes quite tall. I own Ali G indahouse and seasons 1 and 2. I know plenty of the guy and alot of his work. I actually believe hes really from Staines, England, or the area of Staines. So please Serpico, wait, wait! This is formally Ziggurat is it not?

It's Sacha.
He is not from Staines. That is where his character Ali G is from. If you knew anything about Staines you'd get the joke.

I like the Ali G character but my guess is that Americans don't really get him. Much easier to relate to Borat. Some of Ali G's interviews are hilarious though.

he's just showing the absurdity of life in america. he's not so much poking fun at it as he is exposing it. quite frankly, there are people that believe the jews caused 9/11, just as there are people who speak in tongues at religious events, just as there are southern frat boys who wish there were still slaves around.
the more you can laugh at these sentiments the less weight they carry. humor is a great equalizer and (done correctly) can show people that they are more similar than dissimilar.
