What size detangler will I need for a freeride MTB? Is there a special modle for that or do I get an BMX detangler and stick it on?

Most mtn bike frames won't be compatable, but yes you just buy a bmx detangler and stick it on, if it dosent fit you can try to modify it, or just return it and take your brakes off.

You can just buy one with cups that press over the headset.

But other then that it's all the same.

If your fork is anything bigger than a 1 1/8" steerer, it won't work.

Yes, I have both. You can do barspins, and your bike will be lighter.
