Mountain Biking - First Mtn Bike in 10 years

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Used to ride a lot....have been riding roadies the last year to get back into shape....but now that cold weather is here...the woods are calling. 20 mph down the road into the wind chills me to the bone.....but in the woods...I hope it won't be so bad.
Not to mention that Mtn biking is just a flat out blast. I gave up my old Park Pre to the wife and picked up a new Trek 6500. I'll get actual pics of my bike tomorrow but this is what it looks like.
It's black chrome color...kind of neat looking in person.

best of luck to you in the cold weather

the colder weather also gets rid of other people, i like fall/winter riding because there's fewer unleashed dogs, unleashed teenagers, target shooting, etc... also, i got a windproof softshell jacket that is rain resistant, breatheable, and thorn resistant. its awesome in cold weather on road or off road. i can ride into a cold/rainy wind and my whole upper body doesn't feel it. i still gotta find some pants made out of that stuff.
oh and that bike is awesome! enjoy!

Yup. The cold weather is here, playing soccer in -2 and the wind is coming off the hills, while in the rain.
Good to see people getting back into Mountain biking. :)
