Yo guys, quick question, is my bb screwed:
I can pedal about 3 times and it siezes and i can't pedal anymore. I kick it and the process is repeated,
I have cleaned the bearings out, re-greased them and tried again but the same problem occurs.
It is a mid bb, 19mm that came with my fit flow.
Do i need a new bb?

Most likely... although I don't see how the bb would be shot already.

maybe its your hub/freewheel
FitRider 921

That's a good idea.

Yeah I don't see how that is possible with a sealed bb. It's most likely your hub. Take your chain off and see if your cranks spin freely.

ok, ill give that a go, not sure it will be the hub though because i just got a new one a week or so ago

Man you upgrade your bike like everyday! I just ride **** until it breaks haha. I'm suprized you dont have wombolts yet haha. What hub is it?

This happend to my buddy a few days ago, but it was a sh!tty unsealed hub and basically the bearings just blew up. He could pedal like 3 times and then the wheel would lock up and thats was that. He ended up just getting a whole new wheel.

I wish I had wombolts. They just happen to be wayyyy too expensive.

The cranks that came on my flow are super good so I won't be getting wombolts for a while. By the time I do decide to upgrade, Odyssey will have invented something crazyer anyway. hahah

Can't be arsed getting the wombolts, way to expensive for my liking. The hub is a Primo Mix and I supose I do upgrade my bike often but I have nothing else to spend my money on!

I'll take your hub if you don't like it. :) I'm dying for a cassette hub...

def check out the parts you just put on eightdip, if you replace/change something on your bike, and then problem X pops up outta nowhere, that's always the first place you should look.
take the chain off. try pedaling. that will help you out figure out if the problems coming from the BB or back wheel, my guess is its coming from the hub

Yeh i sorted the problem and it was the hub. Well done guys :D. It was one of the pawls wasn't put in properly, ive put it back and it seems to be running fine so far. Cheers!

Both crappy.
Ok boys. I have a week's ban for the next guy that I catch trying to use any variation of the poopy word. It gets censored for a reason. If you continue to go around the censors, you'll have a week away to spend at some other site, like knitforbarbie.com.

It's a bike company it can't be gay.
I would choose Odyssey over Primo, but still Primo makes great hubs/rims and awesome grips.

I would trust a Primo hub over an Odyssey hub any day. Hazard hubs have so many problems.

hazard hubs are ok, the drivers always seem to poop the bed though.

I always here something bad happening to the hub... not too much good about it.

Are you on crack... Odyssey hubs are sooo good. Only the old ones had problems. They've straightend it all out now. I know about 11 or 12 guys that ride ody hubs, and only one of them has ever had a problem with it, and that also has to do with the fact that he dosent take care of it what so ever. He destroyed a brand new shadow cassette in like 4 days. Although I think it was more a defective hub then it was him breaking it. Ither way he's hard on parts.
FitRider 921
11-12-06, 05:20 PM
Well I've heard mostly bad things about ody cassettes.

ive seen mostly bad things...everybody ive seen with that hub the driver poops the bed

Maybe the stock driver... I havent seen any of my friends one pieces die...

Odyssey makes great hubs and parts i don't know what you all are thinking.
Primo makes great stuff too.
And Profile is probly the best, just the most expensive...
premiumbmx2005
11-13-06, 12:41 PM
for profile you are really paying for the name. theres no reason they should be that high priced, even if they are great hubs.
FuzzyRyder
11-13-06, 02:36 PM
I'm just not a primo fan at all. Primo is way over priced too. The Hazzard hub is cheaper then both, and odyssey's warrantees are so good. So I think any problems you have with that hub can be made up for by the low cost and exellent warantee.
premiumbmx2005
11-13-06, 03:06 PM
i agree with you there.

11-14-06, 02:51 PM
Actually the Primo Wheel i bought was cheaper than the Odyssey wheel with the same rim. And the primo sounds better, looks better and goes to smaller cog sizes.

11-14-06, 04:30 PM
i like a super quiet hub, and the smallest teeth sze i will ever need is 11.
FitRider 921
11-14-06, 04:34 PM
Louder = cooler. I want a 9.
premiumbmx2005
11-14-06, 04:37 PM
ive seen only problems with 9 tooth (odyssey, kink, kink Ti, and blackout drivers were the ones that failed)
FitRider 921
11-14-06, 04:38 PM
Well, good thing I don't want any of those... I want a shadow hub.

It's either that or a Demolition... I like both, but I'd probably go with the shadow.

demolition=great hub
