I did some searching, but can't find any cases where this has been deemed a fit or not.

I have a Nexus8 with a "pod" shifter/brake lever combo. The levers are Nexus8 from a 2004 model Trek L200, which I currently have mounted to Nashbar trekking bars. I'm thinking of trying moustache bars with the levers mounted to the "drops" portion, effectively setup like swept-back upright bars, just with more hand positions.

I know the clamp size (at least of the Nashbars) is 25.2, so it will fit the stem, but will the levers mount correctly on the bar? My intent would be to tape the entire bar, riding the drops in traffic and the hooks on long stretches of my winter commute.

Most "moustache" bars are 15/16" (23.8 mm) diameter, designed for "road" controls.

The Nexus shifters are for the 7/8" (22.2 mm) diameter used on upright bars, won't fit.

You might want to consider "North Road" (http://harriscyclery.net/itemdetails.cfm?ID=411) bars for this application, they will fit.
