O.K., I'm biased, since it is my team but...

The University of Northern Colorado Team, in only its second year in existance, is making strides towards being a player in our area.

I'm just writing this because I am so happy for my teammates, as their hard work begins to pay off.

This weekend we raced at the Colorado University Criterium and won two of the three collegiate races (C's and B's). In the C's we put a guy in a break with two CU riders and he won the sprint. In the B's we put our train on the front to chase down a break before launching our top guy on a two-up break for the last few laps. He also won the sprint.

As for me...I rode my guts out, got the dry heaves, had the taste of dinner revisit me, and promptly went out the back. It was cool though. We had a number of guys do their work and then die but in the end we all celebrated. Nobody got too caught up in themselves.

As an older doctoral student I have not had the chance to be a part of a team since running college cross country about ten years ago. It feels good.

congrats! I trained a lot with the Virginia Tech cycling team the last few years...but unfortunately the season always came in early spring...and my hatred for training in the cold winter left me out of form during the season, haha

oh well...now that i'm out of school though I hope to ride with a team in North NJ...

good luck with the rest of the season! :)
