Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Well this is what life all about... got up had a cup of java, relaxing and reading the Sunday paper with s_girl.
Took the ol' Schwinn CrissCross for a run to the end of Harkers Island NC which is 8.1 mi from my house, sat there under a shaded picnic area (alone) at the Cape Lookout Seashore National Park (mainland side) and read a bit of the New Testament (pocket size), watered up and returned for a total of 16.2 miles... my longest run yet, since I recently started riding again.
Weather was/is perfect, no cars, and the scenery was divine! All in all the start of a very spiritual Sunday for me... I think I'll go pick my guitar on the back porch for a while!
Sure sounds sweet to me! Happy pickin' and cyclin'...
Pickin' and grinnin' is what it is all about! I just got back from a nice ride, and I am feeling great! Todays ride was a bit on the physical side, and heavy on the metaphysical side, simply fantastic!
Keep up the fine work, s_boy!

Its nice to hear that Im not the only one who uses riding time to contemplate the nature of the universe and commune with God.
S_Boy, I also have a pocket sized bible that I like to take out on rest stops, I always find some nugget of wisdom to meditate on on the ride home.
Peace.

I rode so hard and long on Saturday (Bastille Day for those who are French) that when I returned home and tried to play my guitar I was unable to hold down the strings. Right now it is a bit difficult to type on my keyboard as fast as I am used to. I rode my first club ride, and I had a blast! :D
Time for a new pair of gloves, A. F.!:D

awesome Snoop... I am finding that riding my bicycle is most perfect for "quiet time" with Him. I saw your avatar on another thread and knew we would get around to meeting eventually.
Peace in return!

You remember the guy in Fiddler on the Roof, how he was always talking with God. Usually pretty much in a disgruntled, "Why ya giving me such a hard time here God?" kinda way. Then there's Moses who was constantly conversing with God, about what to do, and his thoughts. Well, I find myself doing that a good bit! I'm no Moses...(not even a beard!)...but that quiet time with the bike, me, God, and the scenery of clouds, "sunrise, sunset"...Ahhh that sounds familiar! It's a blessed time!

Just goes to show you, God cannot be confined to a temple made with human hands (though it does help us to stay out of the rain!) ;)
Of course, rain on a bike is not always a bad thing... :D
I really appreciate God's creation more when I ride. There are so many things I miss when driving. I like to think cycling is something God-given to help us better know all the things we have been given.
Imagine shopping all day to find just the right gift for someone you love, just to show them you appreciate them, and they never opened the package...
