What are some good carry along air pumps for a tubeless tire? Also are they hard to patch.... and do you patch a tubeless tire the same way with a tube... I'm going on a trip and I'll need the essentials.

You might want to invest in a CO2 type pump. I've heard others say they've had trouble getting the tire to seat with a hand pump. I've used a hand pump several times before with my tubeless tires with no problem though.
As far as patching, be sure to use the scraper, (don't know if that's the proper term), and burnish the area around the hole well or the patch will not stick. Other than that, I patch them just like a tube. Never had a problem with one holding.

Deffinitely get a CO2 inflator. I've actually had a hard time seating them with a FLOOR pump, much less a CO2 inflator. It can be a real hassle. I'm not sure what kind mine is.. it's got a trigger and uses 12 gram unthreaded cartridges that you can buy at Walmart (15 cartridges for 7 bucks)
