I am doing much, much better. My back is no longer hurting like it was. It does hurt to twist in certain, very awkward positions, but is ok for the most part. I did my first bike riding since the wreck that Saturday and it really helped my back out a lot. :D I really felt a lot better on Sunday after the bike ride. I did a short 15 mile ride.

The doctor has been giving me steroid shots and that has also helped a lot too. The only drawback is that I have put on 8 pounds within the last week and a half from the steroid injections.

You'll lose that weight quickly though...as soon as you start getting your regular "spin" on. Good to hear you're on the mend!

Sorry to hear about your crash, but I'm glad to hear you're doing better.

A few years ago, I wrote an article entitled What to Do If You Crash (http://www.massbike.org/howto/crash.htm) that's available at http://www.massbike.org/howto/crash.htm. The information has some bits that relate to Massachusetts, but most of it is generic and should be helpful to any cyclist who collides with a motor vehicle.

Good luck to you!

I was riding in downtown Nashville yesterday and the same guy that I hit before almost pulled out in front of me again. I was watching him this time and he wasn't even looking to see if any cars were coming.

I called and reported him to the police.

I had an old fella cut right across me this morning as my coworker and I where coming to the end of a ride. If I hadn't been looking I would have plowed him, I was just able to slow enough to avoid him and slapped the crap out of his tail light as I passed! My riding partner made an astute comment "@ss hole"!

Good for you! Hopefully he'll get a return phone call/visit from the cops to "speak to him about the manner of his driving". Hopefully that will be enough for him to wake up to himself.

Would you not think that he would be far more cautious after his wife got cut so bad when I came through the window?

No kidding! What are the odds that you'd almost run into him again? I wonder if he recognized you? I wonder if he even knows what's going on around him? I wonder many things about him, and other drivers actually. . .

In all seriousness - probably not. He's probably figuring either or both of the following:

1. It's highly unlikely to happen again.

2. Who cares, as long as I didn't lose my licence over it.

Fact is, a phone call from the cops might make him think that no 2 is a very real possibility. If he's like the majority of people when the get behind the wheel of a car, that's probably all that matters to him.

No, I was lucky that it only put a few scratches on it
