As many of you know, this past Friday was my last day of work before my three month leave. On the ride home, I noticed a black cat strolling up to the side of the road. He then picked up his speed and ran right in front of me. No damage done, but I was thinking this could be a bad omen. Well, I am glad to say I survived the weekend...until last night. Nothing big, but as I was laying in bed I received a nasty spider bite on my butt. And, of course, the said chomp is percisely where my leg/butt hits the side of the saddle. It isn't bothering me a whole lot, it is just that I am afraid this is the is only the beginning.

As long as it wasn't a brown recluse spider's, the bite should heal up quickly. If it was a brown recluse--depends...:(

I knew a man who flew in B-17s during WW2. His planes serial number ended with 3 numbers that added up to 13. On his 13th mission, (the second Schweinfurt raid) on April 13, 1943, the plane was shot down. He was taken prisoner, and was held for 13 months. He stayed in room 13 with 12 other guys (total 13!) The Russians liberated the camp, gave the prisoners food and weapons, and told them to wait for the GIs. The US Army showed up 13 days later. After being liberated, it took him 13 weeks to get home! He said he has always stuck with the number 13, was always lucky for him!!
We've owned two black cats over the years, and crossed thier paths many, many times, with no ill effects.
So, I think your fears are unfounded! Enjoy your wonderful break! Of course, don't step on any cracks in the sidewalk!:D

Especially if you're barefoot and the cracks have brown recluse spiders in them.
