Is the minimum search length set to 4? Is there any way that we could decrease it to 3, or perhaps a number of 3 letter phrases. For example, right now I'm trying to search for "L&M Arc HID" in the Commuter forum and I know that several threads match this description. But search turns up no results. On the other hand NiMh gets plenty of hits..

Good question. I don't have a good answer for you, but hopefully one of the moderators who's more familiar with the innards of the forum can help you out.

Lurker1999 - just heard back from the man with the answers on this one. Yes, the minimum search length is set at 4. It has to do with the limitations of the forum software and the size of the database. The short answer is, either keep it the way it is for now, or BikeForums goes "KABOOM" a whole lot more often. There are plans in the works to throw more hardware at the problem to resolve this issue.

As a workaround, you might try searching in Google and specifying the site. The search for "l&m arc hid" site:www.bikeforums.net (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22l%26m+arc+hid%22+site%3Awww.bikeforums.net&btnG=Google+Search) may be just what you're looking for.
