Well yesterday I finally got to really try out my C'dale F800. All I have to say is Sweet. It pedals so effortlessly. This thing is a sprinting machine. My friend on his new Dawg and I took off from my house and made a 3hour loop around the city taking mostly dirt and grass trails for the first half and them pavement for the second half. (Was windy and started to get tired.) I loved everything about my bike. It handled rough stuff very well, shifted flawlessly (the guys at my lbs really know how to tune a bike)and the tires had very good traction on all surfaces including snow.
The only problems I had was a pinch flat and a sore butt. Luckly the flat occured right outside a bike shop, so being the lazy person I am, I paid to get the tire fixed. It seems the F800 is shipped with ultra light tubes and tires. That's problably why it punctured so easily. The problem with the soar butt is probably from the fact I haven't really ridden a bike for a few years. But either way, I'm buying a new seat.
The funny part is at the end of the trip. One of the main reasons I'm getting back into biking is so that I can get into better shape and loose some extra pounds. Well on the way home, My friend and I stopped by KFC and ate 5 pcs of chicken each and fries and macaroni salad. I'm preatty sure I ingested 3 times more calories than I burned off. At this rate I should gain about 5 pould a week rather than lose it.:)
I'll try to post pics of my now dirty bike soon.
