Hey guys,
well this weekend we need to make reservations(sp) for Tsali and Pisgah and need some help finding these places. I was wondering, if you would please, if you could give me a few links or phone numbers on where we can get reservations for campgrounds or hotels. Also where would be the best city to room in to ride both trails and stay near civilization if we stay in a hotel(if we stay in a campground would not matter...obviously)

Thanks for the help guys you've been helping this trip out a lot

For info on the trails in Tsali, check with the Nantahala Outdoor Center. They have info on lodging as well. The closest city is Bryson City.

At Pisgah, there is an abundance of places to stay/eat. You're just outside of Asheville, which isn't exactly a BIG city, but one of the biggest in NC. At the south entrance, you'll find a smaller town, (college town) called Brevard. They've got some cheaper lodging.

Sorry I can't help on specifics. I usualy camp, and eat PB&J's!

Thanks for the link. Staying in a cabin at Natahahahanagafaja or whatever they call it seems like it'd be ideal, but we still have to talk about it. How bad are the bugs and snakes out there this time of year?

I dont think you will be riding here. I live 15 minutes away from pisgah and we just got 8 inches of snow. Its ****ing insane for something like this to happen in april in NC.

No joke?!! I was there over a month ago and the weather was awesome.. I walked around in shorts and a t-shirt the majority of the time! That's nuts!!

Tsali campground does have showers, but they close down the plumbing during the winter. Don't know when they re-open it.

The showering facilities should be open. They were in the process of opening them when I was there for spring break, which was well over a month ago.

I'm planning on going up there the 1st week of June. I know it is quite a haul for you to attend, but you are welcome.

Also check this thread of the ride you missed in April

Road Trip!!! Yoo - Hoo! Who's bringing the micro brews???

Doubt I can take the time off from work, but I love riding in Pisgah! Don't worrry about snakes, bugs ...etc. The only thing that might be a concern is tics. Just do a tic search during every shower, (in those unmentionable areas) then check each other's hair, you can look like a bunch of monkeys grooming each other's head!

Other than that, the usually mosquitos and such!

A couple brews is a small price to pay for a good riding partner
