Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

The subject says it all, i prefer to use an old tyre, but hate changing it all the time as my Michelin Axial Kevlar training tyres have an EXTREMELY tight bead on them.
What do you guys (and girls) think?
Save the new tire for the street. Perhaps geting an inexpensive wheel mounted up with an old tire is in order? It's not like you need Spanky wheels on a trainer
I use a cheap smooth Kmart tire on the cyclops, it's been on the for three years and over 3000 miles on the cateye and it's not worn out yet.
