"P-O-T-A-T-O...E?

How the mighty have fallen
The Shocking news item of the year comes from the Bicycle Retailer and Industry News website which reported that K2 has elected Dan Quayle - 44th-Vice-President-of-the-United-States Dan Quayle - to its board of directors. Our K2 (bicycles, snowboards, etc.) and Dan Quayle. It's not a typo.

"...perhaps the whole industry has the same basic question:" they write. Here's a few: Shouldn't he be helping Bush Jr.? Is the Secret Service aware of this? A Republican....are you sure? Don't you have to know how to spell?

The list could go on and I'm sure you can think of better ones than I, but the lowdown is that Quayle "is especially knowledgeable about Pacific Rim trading issues". You mean he's not even Honorary Chairman? He's actually going to be making business decisions? Clearly, we're going to need some answers, but who's got those kinds of connections? The questions are inescapable. "

WTF is the world coming to?

Found this at Madformountainbiking.com. Check out the spelling of Quayle.
Vice President Potato Head for K2

High profile appointee for bike company.

Bike company K2 has appointed ex-vice president Dan Quayle to its board of directors. Apparently Quaile managed to pick up something about Pacific Rim trading issues whilst in office and the bike company is hoping this knowledge will boost flagging sales.

As second in command to George Bush (senior) Qayle became an object of ridicule. In one memorable photo opportunity he insisted a schoolboy add an 'e' to the word potato. K2 must feel reasonably confident Kwayle won't repeat the error at least with the company name.
