I think I'm gonna order one this weekend. I've read great reviews over on www.mtbreview.com Just want some other opinions though. Good thing I've lost weight from what I've read too. Heavier people tend to bust them pretty good.

Just make sure you score one from post-recall production. I'm told the early ones had an unfortunate habbit of breaking under pressure.

I've got a Thudbuster and I'm happy with it. I've experienced no loss of performance from bobbing, but maybe that's because it's dialled in pretty tight.

In fact I've gained in performance due to the fact that my body isn't taking the brunt of all the shocks. It has allowed me to ride faster and longer as my body feels less beaten.

Like you I choose the Thudbuster based on the reviews from mtbreview, and I'm glad I took their advice.

Just make sure to give it a good lube before installation, and if you've any extra money to get the Crudbuster to go with it.

Happy riding, and post an update of what you think of it, Portent

I've got one as well. The original was sugject to the recall and they replaced with no hassles. Still waiting for the t-shirt though.

I'm 150lbs and use the 2 black elastomers which makes it pretty tight but perfect at speed. I don't want all the travel just the edge taken off bumps and the Thudbuster does that with ease. The rearwardand downward action also does not shorten the saddle to BB distance which other susposts cannot match.
Now if only they can bring out one with oil damping and a lockout...................

Assuming you mean the thudbuster:

2 pivots compress a pair of elastomers. There are different elastomers to provide varying stiffness.

No idea how it works, but everyone that has one seems to love it. Except for the people well over 200 pounds who seem to snap them.

Interesting...a four bar linkage on a suspension seat post :D

This thread also raises the question of which is better...BC bud, or Western Washington Meth?

Just because I stand on the corner wearing a hoody does NOT mean that I am selling drugs.

Smoking and selling are two different things.
