FINALLY!

My brother's known for weeks and weeks that I've been looking for someone to ride with.... maybe even months. Finally, he remembered one of his good friends who rides his bike everywhere. I got the chance to talk to him last night on the phone, and he was pretty nice. We made plans to hook up for a ride on Saturday morning. Whooooooo!

I am also meeting with the Park Tool guy on Saturday morning. I'll be working with his organization doing volunteer work with inner city kids that work in his bike shop. It should be fun. I'm baking brownies and bringing over hot chocolate for the kids. 8am on a Saturday morning is too early!!! But I'm going to do it.

I had a good interview with the city for that summer job I've been gunning for. They will be interviewing for the next couple of weeks, and they said they'd let us know by the end of April. Everyone, send me love and good thoughts and keep your fingers crossed for me!

It's a great day, and I'm almost off for a day of good riding!

8am on a Saturday is early for me to be thinking.... that's what I meant.

Most days, I'm up at 4:45am. I call Saturday my sleep in day, that's all. That's over with, though.

Glad to have someone to ride with, though!

I spoke too soon.

This guy was the one who wanted to talk to me. Plus, he was the one who suggested Saturday. He was supposed to call me today before 6pm, and we were going to firm up some plans, but so far, I haven't heard anything, with 15 minutes to go.

So maybe I don't have a riding partner after all? :(

I think this forum is cursed... Everytime I announce on here I found a riding buddy, I get stood up. What's up with that? Who's jinxing me here? Out, out damn spot! ;)

I am a 1:15pm person myself ;) 25 minutes to eat, shower, and rush to work. Lately, I have been getting in 2hr night rides between 2 and 4am. I cant think of a better time to ride around here. I just need a better light upfront :(

Ditto on the pre-dawn rides. I've been doing some 4am rides myself around here, especially now that summer's over. Just about perfect. Oh yeah, today (Saturday) was my sleep in day for the week. I got up at 5.15 am.

I want to ride a club night ride in May. Any suggestions on minimum wattage to be able to 'see' without breaking the bank? I don't want to buy anything fancy because I won't need a light much.

I hope you received that call, but I wish you where around where I live. I am a lone wolf im my parts as far as road rides go and I do know what it feels like to always be going out by yourself.

On night rides. I have gotten a light for commuting and have discovered riding at night! WOW what a rush! I look for excuses to ride at night now just so I can enjoy the stars and quiet. I live in a rural area so you do have to look out for critters that roam at night but so far almost hitting an opossum is the only close call. I have a light and motion solo logic that I run on 6W most of the time. If I am going fast or in an area that has no ambiant light I run the light higher up to 15W and it works great!

Alright- the guy just doesn't know any better about time, but he finally called 10 minutes ago. We will meet tomorrow morning and see how far he will ride. He's already going to have about 30 miles on me by the time we meet up, so I'm not sure how many more miles we'll be riding for, but I'm looking for something like (hopefully) 70 miles.

Actually, I do plan on some night rides this summer. We'll see how that goes. I find riding at night very peaceful at times.

Congrats on finding a riding partner. Be sure to fill us in on all the details after the ride.

Riding buddy?... Around here I don't think they exist. I'm always riding alone, maybe the hills around here scare people from even trying a bicycle. I find that sometimes it's hard to get motivated to actually get out on the road. Having to meet-up with someone would probably solve that. Once out there I kick myself for dragging my feet...and wasting part of the day! I'll keep looking, though. Someday someone may pedal over that hill.

But hey! I'm so happy for you that you found someone to ride with, Koffee...Hope it works out.

....many happy miles
