What's the best type of training that will allow a rider to make a break away, and then be able to maintain that effort to make the break away stick as long as possible?

Tempo work, gradually increasing till you are doing 2+ hours of tempo.

The way I see it, you have to be able to maintain almost a TT effort (Lactate or just below) for a long period of time.

Don't forget intervals, hard and medium
