Hello, there. Like the title said I have a great Schwinn cruiser apox. 1947 (what I have been told) and the crank broke on me the other day. After cleaning my scraped knees from eating pavement I figured I would try and repair it.

Unfortunately I am not the greatest repariman so if you can help I would apriciate it. Questions:

1. I have 1 arm replacement. What else do I need? Bearings, tools, grease?

2. Anyone know a good place to buy these things online?

Any help is much appriciated. I will try and post some pics if I can get a digital camera.

Thank you!

Tell your tale of woe to Quas at this e-mail address. He runs Village Schwinn in Somers Point, NJ and has an entire store full of what you need for a '47 Schwinn. In fact, he probably has five of them plus enough parts to build five more. He is often quite slow to respond. Vyvvv@aol.com Good luck.

Go the the Classics Classified forum on the Schwinn forums and tell the folks there what you need. Somebody may have something - most probably they do.

What does the bike have- a cottered crank or a single piece crank?

What exactly broke? The crank arm?

Do you have any idea what kind of bike you have? The more info you provide, the more we can help you; tire size, general description - PHOTO?
