Winter Cycling - Indoor training devices

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I was wondering if anyone could provide feedback on different ways to train on my bike indoors for the winter. Discussion about different training devices available, best brands, failures would be great..... (i.e. Kurt or cycleops, so here i was training when.....)
thanks
chris
The only thing i have is a trainer and I hate it. I much prefer to ride outdoors.
The only feedback I can give is that stationary bikes usually have the wheel in the front and the power transfer is 180 degrees out of phase compared to a real bike. As far as I know the cyclops is the only stationary bike worth getting for this very reason.
I have not tried indoor trainers. I think it is more fun to try and ride a bike in the snow but of course it is nice to have an indoor solution since you can't always ride as often as you like.

And with trainers, you don't really "ride" you just pedal a lot.
