Ok - I'm one of you, now. Today is my birthday. Today, I turn 50.

It seems like just yesterday I was 20 years old, wondering what I was going to do with my life. All in a rush, it blurred by. Now I sit here at 50, wondering what the hell happened - it was like the blink of an eye - whooooosh.......

Well, enough of that introspection bullsh!t - I'm having a good time. I have the love of a beautiful woman, a daughter that adores me, a good and faithful dog, a warm and dry comfortable home, and even some money in the bank (listed in order of priority!). Plus, I have a garage full of bikes. All things considered, it could be worse, eh? :D

Well my friends, here I am - for better or worse.

...and vintage bikes at that! They even let youngsters like me say a thing or two. Happy birthday!

No Pics- No mention of pie and no Bribes. You may be 50 but there is still a lot a learning to do.

Well done on making 50.

It's about time; now I'm not the newbie. I keep telling people that 50 is just half-time.

Enjoy, and take some time for a ride.

Does that mean you like the dog better than the bikes?

Sierra Fall Century, east side of the Sierra Nevada range near Mammoth Lakes, CA. #7 in a string of 9 centuries I did this year. That particular pic was taken of me cresting Sagehen Summit, at just over 8300' in elevation.

And your favorite pie is?
Key Lime
Pecan
Sweet Potato

Happy belated b-day, Boss Man, from your neighbor in Moraga who hangs out in 50+ a fair amount, even though I am still nine months shy of official entry age. I need to come over to San Ramon and introduce my Ed Litton-painted Paramount to your Ed Litton-painted Mondia. Just have mercy on me, as I am about your size but nowhere near 9-centuries-in-a-year shape.:D

Anytime, my friend. I just rode up to Moraga and back last Saturday.

Oh - about the 9 centuries...... it's not like I set any records doing them. :D

Happy birthday! Will you be coming to SoCal for any rides next year? Maybe the Heartbreak Hundred or the other 2 King of the Mountains rides?

Thanks - Heartbreak Hundred is on the short list of rides for next year, although after last year's performance I should probably have my head examined....

<BIG NEWS> The wife and daughter presented me with my birthday present last night - a Garmin 305 "package" with cadence and HR monitor. Now I won't be able to lie about climbing and distance......

Do you have a garage door in front of which to take pictures of your bike(s)?

Yeah - white (well, more of a light gray, really), roll-up with panels. Just like everyone else.
