Commuting - Schwinn High Sierra?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Is this a decent bike? I can't find any information on Schwinn High Plains from the 1990s. The guy selling it wants 50 bucks, and he says he's replaced some parts like new cables and the like. Is this bike from the 90's like he said? Is it a decent bike? I really know nothing about these, other than that it looks about the right size for me - I'm a leggy 6', and I'll be using it in the city and on bike paths most likely.

Any experience with these? Thanks in advance!

That review was for the High Plains, not High Sierra...

The thread header says "High Sierra," but your 1st post says "High Plains."

Yeah, I tried to edit the title of the post, but I couldn't figure out how. After closely examining the photos of the bike the guy sent me, I finally actually read the name on the top tube and realized the model of the bike wasn't what he said it was. Thanks for the help, all!

So the link that Sci-Fi supplied was exactly what you were looking for, correct?
The overall ratings from that link were pretty good.
