Road Cycling - Creaking Look pedals

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Hi guys...for the past couple of weeks, my left Look pedal has been meaking creaking type noises on every down stroke, and now my right pedal has joined in too...I'm worried about whether whatever is causing the creaking will affect the efficiency of my pedalling...any ideas?
Thanks
What condition are your cleats in?

My husband oils his shoes (the front part of the look cleat) before every ride to keep his from squeeking

My 501's make no noise whatsoever. Then again, my carbon fibre handle-bars creak more than my Grandma's attic. With all that noise, maybe I'm just not hearing the pedals! :D
All you've got to do to your cleats is put a little grease on the back lip of them. I just posted this answer in another thread exactly like this. I don't know why they make the noise (nobody else seems to, either), but it's normal. Just use a little grease, and your problem will be solved.

Use a bar of soap to lube the cleats. Just rub it on the edges of the cleat.
