Just wanted to drop a 'hello' in. I have been out of the bike world a long long time - way to long. Used to work in a couple shops and do some rec riding on and off road. Went into the Army and pretty much stopped until last year. Buddy of mine from high school mentioned that we should try the STP again - since I missed the one we planned on back in 86. So I said sure why not - looked at the calendar and it was 20 years - good timing. Bought a new bike, geared up, trained, and road the SPT in two days in 06 - had a blast. Decided that the bike I had 'just wasn't quite right' and hit the Performance after Thanksgiving day sale and well - WAY over bought for a new bike – should have stayed away from that place…
Went from a Rocky Mountain Cross bike converted to road bike (which is a nice ride):
