Just in case any of you are not familiar with the Women on Wheels group, check out a recent article about them by clicking here (http://www.contracostatimes.com/mld/cctimes/news/local/states/california/alameda_county/alameda/16113228.htm)

The group is pretty much designed to help support and educate women on the basics of cycling.

I just thought it was pretty neat.

Then there's WOMBATS (http://www.wombats.org/) in Marin County. I've been considering sending my wife, as she's beginning to enjoy spin class a lot, but lacks the technical skills for MTB riding that I developed growing up and riding in Marin. She's too intimidated to ride trail with me so I think the WOMBATS thing would be really great. I've heard others knock Jacquie Phelan, but she has my deepest respect, no matter how kooky she may be. I wrote about her HERE (http://nollij.blogspot.com/2005/12/jacquie-phelan-is-my-hero.html). Any women here on the forums have any feedback on the WOMBATS rides?

Every year the Fremont Freewheelers holds their Cinderella Training. It runs from mid-January up until the Cinderella Classic metric century in April, put on by the Valley Spokesmen out of Livermore. It's road riding on all types of bikes. Women teaching women.
