Okay, BFer's, weigh in or miss the fun. We need a headcount to plan this, so please let us know if you are coming or not. Answer the poll - AND, post if you are coming and if you are bringing a guest. This will give us an idea of how many people and the interest. Thank you, and I hope to see all of you there with jinglebells on!!!!

WHERE THE ELVES WILL PLAY: Lings & Louie’s, 85 Fortune Drive, Irvine, CA 92618, Phone: (949) 585-0022 (reservation is under BIKE FORUMS)

THE TIME IT ALL BEGINS: 6:00 p.m. (I will be arriving as early as 5:30 p.m. if anyone wants to come a little earlier)

A LINK FOR YOU TO EXPLORE: http://www.lingandlouies.com/eoffice/taf/_lingandlouies.taf?mnid=locations&smid=0&vurl=lingandlouies

JUST A QUICK FYI: I made a reservation at this time for 20 and asked if we could have 4 separate checks for the table. The manager has agreed to this. So, groups of four or five will split checks to make it easier when the bill comes!

THE ELVES' ATTIRE: As you wish, but think LA/Irvine chic – i.e. don’t come in your bike clothes, unless you own a red skinsuit.

I'm in if someone can give me a place to crash for the night. No couch necessary. Just floor space for a sleeping bag would be fine.

Where's the info as to where, what time, and how much? I tried looking through the other thread, and was so distracted by all the flirting and naughty pics that I couldn't find the info.

I'm coming! Bring on the mistletoe. Exort, you're coming, yes? :D

Oh, and Jason, please answer the poll. :o

Um...we have 5 yes responses, but I only have four down. Who answered the poll but didn't put his/her info in a post?

Anyone that has a place where people can stay needs to contact me (Extort, not ME) as soon as possible. Please let me know how many people you have room for.

I will make a couple lists and people can pick and choose.

Extort, I need a place to stay. I don't need much space. 6' by 4' for my sleeping bag is all I ask of any prospective host.

Isn't there a way to make the poll show names? I've seen that done before. Hey ModJason...fix it for us?

jschen
11-29-06, 05:04 PM
It already shows names since M.E. set it up as a "public" poll. Just click on one of the numbers and you'll see who voted and what votes they cast.

11-29-06, 05:05 PM
Thanks, Jason. I didn't even realize I did that. I guess I clicked it! :D

With the century kicking off early the next morning, I'm a "probably not" for this one. As much as I love a drunken fiesta, the ride on the 10th is starting at some ungodly early hour and I'm not sure I can see doing both.

I'm a weenie.

Well, I don't plan on getting drunk. I'm driving for one and riding the next morning. I did the "ride hungover" thing at JT and, personally, I don't want a repeat. ;) So, if that is all that is dissuading you, I hope you'll change your mind and at least stop by!

I'm almost tempted to rent a room just to avoid driving home then back in the AM.

Rose and I should be able to make it. Again, I vote for Buca di Beppo...they can take large parties and they have a full bar. I don't think IHOP has booze.

VelodromePhoeni
11-29-06, 07:27 PM
IHOP will demand you turn over your driver's license before they can seat you. Some guy back east just sued over it.

On the plus side, the syrup has probably been on the table long enough to not only ferment, but distill by evaporation.

11-29-06, 07:35 PM
*sigh* No on IHOP. Got it. Too bad, because I was going to ask management if they would comp our pancakes. Oh, well...:p No, I'm not serious. And, no, we're not going to IHOP.

But Bucca doesn't sound bad, CJ. I'm not a big fan of theirs, except I will admit that the cannollis (sp?) are out of this world, wicked delicious! :D

DaveSANYYZ
11-29-06, 07:36 PM
I'm in, but I'll be heading back to San Diego earlier in the night for the Burrito ride the day after.

Being asked for a driver's license is a nice way to feel young again. :D

DaveSANYYZ

I've only been to the Bucca in SD, so can't comment on that. The food in the SD one is pretty nice, so I don't mind Bucca.

IHOP... I've only been to the ones in Texas and they have monster size omelettes. Tastes pretty good, but aren't they more of a breakfast/brunch shop?

Dave, we were only kidding. See, I work at IHOP Corp. and thomson knows that, and he was teasing me earlier...ugh. Never mind, just rest assured that we will be "partying" in an appropriate venue for parties. The last thing I need is for my CEO to get wind of me being escorted by security out of the IHOP in Irvine half nekid, giggling with my lipstick smeared and my hair all messed up. :p

Anyway, our sweet little m.e. is the assistant of one of the corporate big-wigs. Unfortunately (for me) she doesn't work in one of the restaurants because then I could get my pumpkin pancakes free. Yeah right...., I can dream

Ling and Louie's (http://www.shopirvinespectrumcenter.com/StoreDetails.asp?id=1&sid=1184) can seat fairly large groups and has good food. No idea what they're like on the weekends though as I've only been there during the week.

Dave and Buster's has banquet rooms and is a ton of fun but I don't know what something like that costs.

Did somebody say party :) ? Hmm, I better not attend. Bad things happen to me at parties. :( I'll keep an eye on the thread just in case I change my mind.

Will there really be scantily dressed elves? And more importantly, will they be female?

Maybe. But I'm not telling. ;) I used this little ploy because I knew it would get the attention of some members who were paying no attention to the Holiday Planning Thread (and actually, I have to give Brandy, a naughty little elf for sure, credit for the idea of starting a new thread). So, if you have any hope of seeing a scantily-clad elf (female or otherwise) anywhere near some mistletoe, you'll just have to make an appearance at the party.

Oh, and for anyone on the fence about coming, thinking that we are all going to be drunken slobs unable to ride the next day, not true. We can party without going overboard (really it's about getting together for dinner to celebrate the holidays with our BF friends, right?) and still earn our burrito on Sunday the 10th. I for one am going to excercise some control with the liquor. I cannot promise the same with the mistletoe, especially if a certain Santa happens to be near me and he already knows who he is. :p ;) :D

Sadly, I actually can't make this for reasons other than you all won't be hammered :(

I'm on the fence, but only because I'm trying to climb over but my wife is pulling me back. I don't think she has any interest in hanging out with a bunch of my "spandex wearing, underwearless" cycling buddies.
