How did you do anyways? Placing and such...was it a good showing.

I am not sure how I placed but when I crossed the finish my helmet was full of gravel, my right leg, for some strange reason would not work and some how... my rear brake lever was broken and the brake hose was torn from the master cylinder. So very puzzling.

Whoa...that is...a lot of damage...that and coupled with the fact you don't remember...thats pretty strange...

You ok now?

Ok from what? Is something wrong;)

I remember it all. Had a blast even though I was holding a small yard sale.

The worst part about it is I was going to break the 3 minute mark which would have put me on the podium in first in my class and I would have been on pace with the semi-pros. I was so fu#! pissed. I was about to pass the guy in front of me when I realized someone had moved a small bolder right into the middle of my line. I tried to jump it but it caught my front tire sending me into a curb and causing me to play Superman. I landed 15' away from my bike so getting back to it, unraveling the mess and realizing i was in way to high of a gear killed my chances. I thought at first that I was imagining the rocks being moved but then a few other racers said the same thing.

Then, since I had no rear brake I was trying to modulate the front on a high speed off camber, muddy course going into a left turn where there was a little drop and my front wheel decided to get more traction then I had expected and off I went again as the bike decided to go sideways.
I came away this year with less injuries then last but finished worse.

Now I have to get ready for the Nationals next month.

Someone was sabotaging the course...seriously...wow that really sucks that that kind of things happens...well you will just have to kick ass at the nationals :D

I think my friend saw you on the way down, he said your front caliper had a dangling brake hose? :p

Hey Slainte, sorry to hear about the Kaboom! Did you have a good time otherwise? Who ended up winning the Pro DH? What was the course like? Did the newer section make it better? ...etc.

We had a great time. Even if I crash I always enjoy racing and large events like the Sea Otter.

I did not pay attention to who won the mens Pro Dh but I know Gracia took second and T. Mossley(sp?) won the women Pro DH.

About the newer section. It sucked. All that was added was a very long, off camber flat section. I do not mind having some short sections that you need to sprint through but in a DH race I realy am not looking forward to pedaling 3/4 of a mile on flat terraine. A downhill race should be just that and not a lot of pedaling. If I wanted to pedal more I would race Super-D or XC.
