I would like to learn to build frames from Doug Fattic of Fattic Cycles in Michigan this January. He holds regular classes throughout the year but wasn't planning on a course until late April early May. If I can find one, two or three people to join me this January, he'd consider teaching us. If your schedule allows you to join me up in Michigan this Jan. please PM me ASAP.

Here's a link to his website: http://www.classicrendezvous.com/USA/fattic_doug.htm

UBI (http://www.bikeschool.com) is a lot closer (Ashland, OR) and has regularly scheduled framebuilding classes throughout the year.

Yeah, Scooper UBI is closer but I like the fact that I'd get more 1-on-1 with Doug seeing as his limit is only 4 people per class. FlatFender, let me know if it'll work for you.

Doug Fattic posts a lot on the Framebuilders list. I have not met him personally but he strikes me as a very articulate, knowledgable, and an overall good guy - expert painter also. He takes a lot of time to post on the list which shows that he likes to help people. Hard to see where one could go wrong with one of his classes.

Ubi class size is only 8 max. and there are usally two teachers. plus i loved meeting and networking with people from all over. you know the people are going to be pretty cool if they are going to a bike school. you should already have a lot of common ground.
i went to ubi for the tig class and loved it. ask any ubi alumni, they'l say the same.
