I am looking at a '70's Colnago Super track bike (single no brakes) in excellent condition. This bicycle is like new. It is all campy record or super record components. Anyone know what a bike like that is worth? I have not run across one in this condition or to be honest, a real track bike.

Thanks for any help.
Curt

$5... I'll even do you a favor and take if off your hands. Seriously though, a bike like that is worth $$$$.

If it has the matching record group (the bike above is missing the pedals and seatpost at least) and has hideously unperiod rims.... anyway assuming the headset, seatpost, cranks, pedals and hubs are the matching record group and it's got nice period tubulars and a brooks swift and cinelli track bars and stem I would say anywhere from $1500-$2500, if it is in great condition. The higher end is what I believe it is capable of fetching on ebay maybe more. Just buy the bike if it is your size! and show us picks!:D

Cyclotoine, I changed the picture to the exact bike. That is it. This is a Mexican bicycle correct or am I wrong?

Thanks for any help on this.

If you mean the red colnago pictured in front of the mirror, no its an italian bike.
Colnago did have a model called "mexico" .
Cyclotoine is spot on. An excellent condition 'nago with campy SR pista gruppo
is getting into big bucks terrirtory.
I'm just glad it's too big for me. (envy is such an ugly thing)

It is also a track bike. I don't know if that makes it worth more or less?

If the reactions on eBay over the past six months are any indication, a track bike is worth two to three times a road bike. There was a time when I was coming close to getting sucked into this fixie craze - figured that for the same money I can buy something with multiple gears which are a lot more useful out around my house.

Well maybe they are fetching a little more because they are a little more uncommon as well? Not sure what to do?

I have a 1977 Paramount Track bike with the complete Record group in excellent shape. I picked it up for $1000. I realize its not super record, and not a Colnago, but $2000 seems like a lot of money for a Track bike.

that bike looks pristine though.

Track bikes are trendy now, that dictates the higher price. A earlier '90s Colnago Master track frame/fork with a record pista crank went for 767$USD in February and the buyer resold just the frame/fork for 1100$USD in August. The crank went for about 300$USD or so. Nutty.

this bike is worth what someone is willing to pay you should be able to get someting $2000 + for it. But don't just sell this to some hipster with $$$$ make sure they know how special this bike is. why are you selling it in the first place?

Definitely WAY more. Track bikes are less common, and the current trend for Fixed Gear means old steel ones are in HUGE demand. It looks like my size, and just as nice as my EG Bates. If you're wondering what I want for Christmas......

I think it is a 59 or 60cm while the bates is a 62cm, no? I think I would want a track bike with a 61cm c-c seat tube and a 57-58cm c-c TT, I would settle for 62/58 (what most of my bikes are and what I think your bates is).
