I was looking on the Park Tool Repair manual online for the torque specs for the Cassette sprocket lockring. I was working on that earlier today and noticed that the lockring has teeth on the friction side. If this has a torque spec, how do I get around the fact that the teeth can cause friction and give an erroneous torque reading?

Is there another way to tighten the lockring? I just clicked it a few times until it was tight and not wobbly, but not too tight, so it was still freely spinning.

That's pretty much what I do. I tighten about as much as I can turning the remover tool by hand then put a wrench on it and only tighten 2-3 more clicks.

It also gets tightened as you ride. I was lazy one day when I first got my new race wheels in the mail. I slapped on the cassette and tightened it with my fingers, no tool. The week after I switched cassettes and it was just as hard as my other cassettes to get off.

Just crank down a bit and it should be fine.
