Texas - Any DFW riders going to brave the cold this weekend???

The temperatures look to be warming back up tomorrow. It also looks like the precipitation is over. I hope to get out on Saturday and Sunday morning for some riding. Anyone else gonna get out in the 30 degree weather Saturday/Sunday morning to attend any group rides? Both of my group rides have already been postponed until 10:00AM and later so it shouldn't be too bad.

Not me. 27 lows, 45-50 highs. Not quite equipped for that.

My wife thinks I am in sane for wanting to ride but I hate the thought of even getting on the trainer. I rode a couple of weeks ago when it was 37 degrees when we left so this shouldn't be too much colder. Temps at 10:00AM are supposed to be 35.

I will just wear extra clothing like I do when I rode motorcycles. Except I wont wear the motorcycle helmet. ;)

+1! I got a new skully to wear under my cycling helmet today so I think I am set.

What kind of motorcycle do you have?

Ok, I take it back. I'm doing a C&V ride with Marty tomorrow at 11am. Figure it's about time I see just how warm my warmest gear is. ;)

It won't be too cold at 11:00AM. What is a C&V ride?

I used to have a 2005 Kawasaki Concours. Before that I had a 2003 Vulcan 750. I loved the Concours the most. The new bodystyle for the Concours is sweet! I sold my Concours when my son was born. Decided to get in better shape and bought a road bike.

Couple of us classic & vintage riders doing a slow relaxed pace ride on our old steel bikes. :) I'm taking the 32lb Schwinn (~34lbs when I have the cable lock on it).

Sounds fun...

We left at 10:00AM and it was very pleasant...not too cold (with the right gear on). It warmed up very nicely and ended up being a very beautiful day.

The Concours is a nice motorcycle. I ride a 2006 Kawasaki ZX6R. As soon as I finish paying this one off, I think I am going to get something like a Concours. That type is the only type of motorcycle that my wife will ride. That 2008 model looks very impressive!!! I should be ready for one by the end of 2007.

Just got back. Ended up being a pretty nice day. I was a little cold in some areas (feet mostly, but that's always the case with me). I took the Schwinn, and did a trip from RBM down to white rock lake with a lap around and back.

So If I decide to build up a classic/vintage Colnago or Pinarello, does it mean I have to do slow relaxing rides on it:D ???

Only if you don't get tired of me begging for a ride on it. :p

Saturday morning wasn't that bad. This morning was a totally different story!!! It was one of those rides where I could not wait for it to end. I wasn't only cold but I was extremely sore from Saturday's ride. I started riding with a faster group and the faster speeds plus the colder temperatures don't make a good combination. I can say that I did finish the ride, with most of the group so I feel pretty good about it.

I hope everyone had a good cycling weekend!!!
