Normally I do these most Saturdays however tomorrow our 12 year old daughter has a soccer game at 8 am. They are in the Quarter Finals of the league playoffs! Go Mighty Meteors!!!!!! If they win the morning game, they advance to the Semi's in the afternoon and a chance to get to the Finals next weekend.

So, I won't get to join you all tomorrow. With luck, I'll get a ride between games.

Do come down and ride with us, however. It's a friendly, fun ride. Note this is not a hammerfest however the pace can be lively depending upon the group that day.

BTW, I'm off work for Winter Break for several weeks late in December (love working at a school!!) so if you are looking for a ride then and the weather is good, let's connect up.

Karen, approx what time does the longer ride end ? I'm going to try to arrange to do the longer ride if I can be back by around 11.

I would think we would be back by that time...not sure which route they will do tomorrow.
Are you riding from home? You live in Westlake, correct? I may ride from my house (off moorpark rd), but that would mean I would have to leave my house by 6:45 or so...BRRRRRRRRRRRR COLD....!! :)

Yes, I ride from home. I'm only about 10 mins from the shop at Thousand Oaks and Westlake.

Tomorrow is supposed to be nice. Hopefully it will warm up early :D

The shop is at TO Blvd and Kanan.

The long ride tends to finish around 11, give or take 20 minutes. If it's a 40+ miler, expect a little longer.
If I need to be back because of family commitments (ie; "yes dear, I should be back by 11...kinda ") what I'll do is watch the time and cut the route if need be. Nearly all of our rides, (with the exception of the Simi one) stay in the general Conejo Valley area so returns are easy. The several I've created and led had easy bail out spots.

The set up is usually this: there are two rides advertised, a short ride of roughly 20 and a longer one of 35-45 miles. Both groups head out together. The routes are built so that the shorties don't end up too far from home and cut out at the appropriate spot. The longies continue onward.

....!! :)

I have been asking Joel to post the suggested route by Wednesday or Thursday. We have enough routes built now that he should be able to do so. Suggest it to him tomorrow as it is very helpful for planning purposes.

Have fun!

Good ride this morning. The weather was nice and warm even with the wind !

I broke off at Reino and Portero and headed on back to Westlake since I had to be back at 10:30.

Thanks to Jason (Not sure he is a member here) for pulling us through hidden valley into the wind at 23 Mph+

Nice to meet you Karen !

I definitely will. It is very convenient for me since I live 5 1/2 miles away and I can ride there. It also will be great to have that motivation to get my ass out of bed early on Saturdays and get some miles in!

It was nice to see a good amount of riders as well show up.

Glad to hear the ride went okay. Having someone pull you through Hidden Valley is the best 'cause it seems there is always wind there!

I'm hoping we'll be able to do this Saturday's ride 'cause there is some small possibility of rain Friday through Sunday. My daughter's soccer game is at 1:00 so I should be free for the morning.

Last Saturday, her team won both their quarter and semi-final games to earn a ticket to the Finals! Hillary scored the opening goal in the semi-final and then had to leave the game with an injury. She is now 50-50 for the finals.

I'm a toss up..came down with a cold last night. If I feel okay, might do the short route and bail. I wish Joel would post the routes in advance on the web site. It would make it easier to decide how best to handle this!

We had a good one last weekend, doing Agoura to Calabasas, back around Mulholland, up Rock Store down Decker/Westlake. Group was about 15 when we started and whittled down as we rode.
