I'm currently in the process of ordering some things from two on-line dealers, Jenson's and Nashbar. I was wondering if anybody had any knowledge of either the Dimension skewer set or the Nashbar set. They are both the same price. The Dimensions are at $19 and the Nashbars are at 9.95 each on sale from 19.95 each. One more question, has anybody used the Kenda Kwest 26X1.5's??? I can't decide if I want these or the Michelin city grippers. The Kenda's are a little cheaper so I'm leaning towards those, but not sure of the quality. Thanks in advance for any help.

I've not tried the Kenda's, but have used the Michelin's exclusively for the last 4 years and they've help up great!

Skewers are more a function of appearance than performance. A crusty rusty old skewer will hold the wheel on just as well as the shiny new one.

If you're a weight wienie, (I am NOT), then a titanium skewer is preferred, but for most people, a chromoly will work fine!

BTW, I've got some Salsa skewer's on my road bike. MSRP is $69, but I got them during a promotion for FREE, so that's the ONLY reason I switched mine!

Thanks, I just want them to lose a tool in my pack and make it a little easier to work on. I'm a newbie so I wasn't sure if I bought cheaper ones if they would break quick. I mainly ride on paved roads and give the bike little abuse. Thanks again.

Why not check out what your LBS has? They should have some skewers in that price range and ought to be able to get the Dimension set if they don't have 'em.
