Hello, I'm trying to find out what the "(C)" means in this line from "Jessie's Girl":

C_____________(C)_____________Am_F_G
And she's watching him with those eyes

Yeah, I know...I'm going to explain to my Sunday School class what "covet" means, and this song is a good example.

Back to business...One site says that the note is not played (?). That didn't seem to make sense. Other tab sites I found didn't address this notation at all.

So, I'm sure it's simple and one of you can set me straight. I'll be adapting the song to play on the ukulele.

Thanks!

This doesn't look like most of the Tablature I am familiar with.

If I were to speculate they just want you to play a chord. I would assume that it would be sharp, with the parantheses.

If you were to attach the entire tab I would be able to help you better.

To me it means the C chord is implied but not necessarily played there. Listen to the record and see if he or his bandmates strum a chord at that point. It would be a D chord, according to the tab creator. It's tabbed in C on the assumption you will capo it at 2 to make it a D.
