Has anyone ever ridden the Cross Florida Greenway?
Is it one contiguous path or do you have to ride roads to connect them?

I have dug up some information online but not nearly as much as I thought I would find.
Any information on the Cross Florida Greenway would be greatly appreciated

Never heard of it, but I'd love to learn more!

Looks like it starts near Crystal River and ends up somewhere west of St. Augustine. Not all the way across, and not always road bike friendly. Parts aren't even marked for mtb's.

The paved section is only 5 miles long from the Gulf to just past Hwy 19. After that it is a dirt path, closed in many sections. I don't think you can ride it across the state. I ride the paved section fairly often as it is only 20 minutes from my house. (It is a good ride with the family) I'm not a mountain biker, so I may be mistaken though. There is a sign on Hwy 484 (?) between Dunnellon and Ocala for a trail, but I have never seen any bikers on it. I thought it was probably more used by horses! There are some mountain bike trails that start in Ocala though, like the Santos trail.

I remember hearing that the Santos Trail was part of the Greenway property that was never sold off.

Or was that part of the Cross Florida Barge Canal Project. I can't remember. try www.omba.org
