I just bought a new Vetta RT55 and was looking over the manual. They don't say where on the spoke to put the sensor. Does it matter how close to the hub you put the sensor? Or does programming the circumfrence make it so you dont have to?

it doesn't matter, it goes around the same number of times regardless of where you put it on the spoke.

Actually, it will make a slight difference, it all depends on the computer. e.g. my wife's MAVIC Mektronic shifter/computer requires the magnet to be placed very near the rim. Many older Cat-eye computers came with a magnet that installed at the intersection of the spokes...etc.

I know this may be difficult for you (it always is for me). Read the directions! Usually they make mention of best location. If not, usually it is dependent on how close to the magnet you can place the pick-up sensor. If your forks are wide, you'll have to be closer to the hub.
