The 10W flood in my Nightsun Team Issue blew (really old bulb) so I slid into the Home Depot while out on our weekly grocery run. They must have had 100 MR16s but were all 50W floods; same make and model. Great selection there. :rolleyes:

So, www.bulbs.com here I come. Is that the source of choice these days for MR16s?

BatterySpace.com has basic 20w bulbs for about $3. They might have 10w also (the do in MR11) Use code E7SEA for 5% off.

I found some 20W MR16s at Ace Hardware and at Advance Auto Parts yesterday. Or are you looking for 10W?

If I thought I could get away with running two 20W lamps I would but the system was set up for a 10/20 combo and my batteryspace 12v batt is rated to support 30W for the runtime I need. Guess I'm looking for a good place to find 10W bulbs. I didn't find them on batteryspace.com either.

Based on the Nordic group web site (http://nordicgroup.us/s78/headlights.html), Harrington lights (http://www.harringtonlights.com/Specialty_Glass/mr16_low_wattage.htm) sells 10W lamps. I haven't purchased from them, so I can't vouch for them. I also did a web search for "10W MR16" and found a few more places.

Autolumination has MR-16 LED bulbs. If you were going with a dual light setup I would use a standard 20-watt halogen in one fixture and a 3-watt Luxeon LED in the second with it's low power consumption. You never need to worry about the LED burning out and the 20-watt halogen gives you the light you need in situations where you need that amount of light. When I needed to replace the bulbs in my NightSun Team Issue (also really old) I just went to the local lamps and lighting fixtures store. The techie running the stock room pointed me straight to a shelf with dozens of kinds of MR16 bulbs. I got 2 50watt bulbs for under ten dollars. They work with the old metal Nightsun fixture. "Modern" plastic holders could soften or melt at 50 and 100 watts.
