Just a quick one about Ned's use of big/big-he stated that it was his favorite gear but to use it only when the time is right and not stay in it too long. He also stated that a good time to use it would be when you are in the big ring and come to a short hill and you don't want to lose momentum shifting to the middle ring, then use big/big. He also says that you must have a chain long enough to get in and out of that combination.
