Mountain Biking - have you seen these brakes before?

AND holy cow, those are left field enough to make me want to lust after them, if they work as well as they are good looking then wow.

I thought my Grimecas were cool. THOSE are sweet

yeah i don't recall hearing of them so i thought i'd share. they seem nice...but i am sure expensive to obtain.

those look pretty sick. similar lever design to the magura marta and new XTR style. very compact, super nice finish. looks like i might be trying to track those puppies down.

I have a serious love for these brakes and I have never seen them other than online. The pair weighs about as much as two alloy bottle cages....but sooooo much $$$.

Really spendy. Wonder how proprietary the parts hoses/connections/pads are......that combined with the cost could be a sticking point. DOT 4 and DOT 5.1 is good, and standard rotor diamaters as well is good.

If they've made things compatable with standard hardware from other companies, they could have a real winner. I'd hate to spend that much on brakes only to have problems and have a hell of a time getting parts, and not be able to use anything from any other company in a pinch.

edit: appears some Shimano XT pads, maybe other parts might be compatable.

hehe. i'm a roadie, but 990 euros for a set of brakes is a bit excessive, plus i'm wary of any critical component that is THAT light. there's a point where lightweight ceases to become sexy, and gets scary. those MTB brakes are sick though.

Neither of those two things has anything to do with the Cleg brakes and what they may or may not use.

It looks like they can use XT pads, but what about other stuff? If you blow a line or some hardware/seals, can you use Hayes/Shimano/Hope/Avid/Magura stuff in a pinch, or are you stuck waiting on small parts from a very small company in Germany to be shipped over?

For that kind of money for brakes, I'd better be getting some spare hardware and hoses to go with them, especially if ordering from overseas. At least they use some standard forms of DOT fluid. I'll stick with some standard available stuff, that I can get parts for much quicker if I need.

At least it looks like it has standard banjo fittings, hose ends and hose - - things you can probably get (and probably cheaper too) at a good industrial hose supply.

They look light enough, but I wonder about how long they will last. For their price, they better last as long (and be as maintainable) as the high-end Juicies and XTR stuff. I hope the brake pads used are a standard... would suck having to import stuff from Germany rather than just grab another set of Kool-Stop salmons.
